Service or software
FBA reimbursement service or software: which fits your business?
A percentage-based reimbursement service finds and files claims for you and keeps a share of what Amazon pays back. Leviathan Recon is software: you upload reports you export yourself, see the variance against Amazon's balance per FNSKU, and raise each case in Seller Central. It takes no percentage.
Two ways to handle FBA reimbursements
- Who finds the discrepancies
- Percentage-based serviceThe service reviews your account for you.
- Leviathan ReconYou upload reports you export yourself. Recon rebuilds your unit ledger per FNSKU across its reconciliation modules and shows the variance against Amazon's balance.
- Who files and follows up
- Percentage-based serviceThe service files the claims and follows up.
- Leviathan ReconYou do, in Seller Central. Recon's Action Center is where you track each case, with its status, remarks and attachments.
- What it costs
- Percentage-based serviceA percentage of each reimbursement it recovers, at the rate in its agreement.
- Leviathan ReconLeviathan Recon starts with a free 14-day trial and no card on file. Access afterwards is quoted on your account size and the marketplaces you sell in, and we send you the numbers in writing before any paid period begins. It takes no percentage of anything Amazon reimburses.
- Access to your account
- Percentage-based serviceA service that files cases for you does that work inside your Seller Central account, so it needs access you grant. Ask what access, and how you remove it.
- Leviathan ReconLeviathan Recon works from reports you export yourself. There is no API connection to your account and no credential of yours for Recon to hold. You upload files; Recon rebuilds your unit ledger from them.
- Your effort
- Percentage-based serviceLess. The service does the filing.
- Leviathan ReconMore. You raise every case yourself, follow it up and, if Amazon denies it, decide whether to appeal.
What a percentage costs you
Enter both numbers to see the result.
This is arithmetic on the numbers you entered, not an estimate of what any seller recovers. It assumes the percentage applies to the whole amount. Ask the service whether it does, and whether it charges any other fees. Nothing you enter is sent or stored.
Leviathan Recon takes no percentage. Leviathan Recon starts with a free 14-day trial and no card on file. Access afterwards is quoted on your account size and the marketplaces you sell in, and we send you the numbers in writing before any paid period begins.
When a service may suit you better
- You would rather give up a share of each reimbursement than spend your own time finding and filing claims.
- Nobody on your team has time to raise and follow up cases in Seller Central.
- You want someone else to do the case work end to end.
- You sell mainly outside Amazon.com (US). Canada, Mexico, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, India, the UAE, Australia and Japan are in beta in Recon: you can select one and upload its reports, but the results haven't been verified against real reports yet, so compare them with Seller Central before opening a case. Ask a service which marketplaces it covers.
When Recon suits you better
- You want to see your unit ledger per FNSKU and decide for yourself what is worth raising.
- You would rather pay a subscription than give up a share of each reimbursement.
- You prefer working from reports you export, with no connection to your account.
- You want reconciliation beyond reimbursement claims: Shipment, Removal, Returns, Replacement, FC Transfer, Grade & Resell, Adjustment and Full Inventory, plus FBA fee reconciliation on Amazon.com (US). One rate card is built in: the US rate card for books, peak and non-peak. If you sell in another category, enter your own rate card in Settings → FBA Fee Rules before you rely on the results.
- You or your team can raise cases in Seller Central.
- You want the evidence in your own workspace: the rows behind the figures, exportable to CSV.
The trade-off is real: Recon files nothing. Every case is yours to raise, follow up and, if it is denied, appeal.
Questions to ask a reimbursement service before you sign up
- What percentage do you charge, and is it negotiable?
- Is the fee charged on every reimbursement, or only on cases you found and filed?
- Is there a sign-up fee, a monthly fee or a plan I need?
- What access to my Seller Central account do you need, and how do I remove it?
- Who handles appeals if Amazon denies a claim?
- Can I see the evidence behind each claim you file?
- What do I owe on claims you filed before I cancel?
If you file your own claims
- Work out your claim deadline Turn Amazon's window for your case type into dates.
- See FBA fee reconciliation Check the FBA fee on each order against your rate card, on Amazon.com (US).
- How to recover FBA reimbursements The guide to finding and filing claims yourself.
